Everything about these barista aprons from Shuttle and Loom is a big fat yes from me.
Manu, co-founder and designer was working in the service industry and felt the aprons she was given just wasn't cutting it both practically and aesthetically. Having studied fashion design, she decided to do something about it, crafting the 'workwear' by hand in a 'live' cafe environment. Shuttle and Loom is now an open Denim Works Studio hosted at a speciality coffee shop in Chania Greece, where you can walk in and see the aprons being handcrafted in front of you.
The Kross and The Longbow (featured in the images above) are both made from a 13,5oz Raw Selvage Denim crafted by Candiani Denim just outside Milan. The aprons are fully adjustable by the naturally tanned leather straps made locally in one of the 6 remaining tanneries in the town of Chania.
The Kross being the driving force behind their range is an apron that anyone in the craft or service industry can wear. One centre chest pocket plus their trademark side pocket and measures 80cm wide, 75cm length. The Longbow definitely has a presence about it, it's longer measuring 80cm wide, 95cm length and features two trademark pockets one in signature red thread. Both aprons hold the debossed leather named logo of Shuttle & Loom at the bottom left corner.
