Espresso? Aeropress? Pourover? Instant?!
Now, before all of you coffee afficionados start rocking backwards and forwards, in the corner clutching your beloved aeropress, be rest assured that this instant coffee is like no other. It is not some faux-artisanal-hipster attempt from a souless, commercial entity, it is an instant coffee created by people who love coffee and who understand coffee.
Sudden Coffee was created by Finnish barista champion and founder of Helskinki's Freese Coffee Co, Kalle Freese and Foodie-tech man Joshua Zloof with the intention to make great coffee easy, fun and accessible.
"Our approach is simple. We buy amazing coffee from farmers and roasters we know and trust. Next, we turn these beans into instant powder using our top secret process. There's nothing we can add - we just try not to screw it up"
Sudden Coffee co-founder Kalle talks about the mission behind Sudden Coffee.
Obviously there are plenty of great cafes out there with brilliant baristas and the aeropress has become a coffee lovers right-hand-lady-man, but let's be honest, like completely honest - there are times when your eyeballs haven't woken up enough to 'brew' your own coffee, or you are travelling without your own brewing means and are far away from any decent cafe *shock horror* and all you really want is a good strong coffee, right NOW, and these are the times when simply pouring a beautifully roasted and perfected coffee powder into some hot water, stir, drink, the end, helps to make your day that little bit easier, that little bit better.
The guys at Sudden Coffee believe that good coffee has the power to make you feel something special and wanted everyone to be able to experience it anywhere, anytime.
From their San Francisco HQ they start with the best single-origin beans from farms they know & trust, roasted by roasters who know what they're doing. Each cup is then brewed, individually - by hand - no exaggeration, exactly the same way an amazing cafe makes coffee. Finally they wave their magic wand and turn the liquid coffee into crystals, taking great care to preserve all the sweetness and complexity while minimising bitterness.
Sold? I know I am. Not only can Sudden Coffee make having good coffee even easier it will also be delivered straight to your door worldwide in a varying degrees of commitment; 8 cups 'The Weekender', 16 cups 'The Coffee Break' and 32 cups 'The Lifeline' arriving in individual test tube style packages, which add to the slightly mad-lab feel of the product. Price-wise it works out to approximately £1.85 per cup (not including the postage if you're not in the US) which is not cheap by any means, but this is not supposed to be a cheap coffee, we wouldn't drink cheap coffee would we?!
